We drove from Huntsville to Tuscaloosa this morning to see the Crimson Tide play Western Kentucky University. The coach did great and our new living room slide awning paid for itself when it came time to pack up and go this morning. The awning covers the Windows so when I rolled them up it gave me about 4" under the part of the awning covering the slide. There were NO leaves under the awning (we are parked under several huge trees that drop leaves and 'bombs' on us constantly. I cleaned off the leaves covering the top of the awning with our adjustable wash brush but I figured out that I could have simply rolled up the whole awning and the leaves would have just fallen off as the awning rolled up. It was my first time so I was more cautious. I did notice that the gaskets on the sides of the slide out were sticky (maybe with tree sap) but the top pulled away nicely (no tree sap!). I basically dusted off the slide and pulled it in... Perfect! The rear bedroom slide does not have an awning (but it will soon!) and it was the usual 45 minute nightmare of cleaning leaves, dirt, grime, sap, etc. The bedroom has never been too difficult to clean but today's exercise convinced me of the need for the bedroom awning...
Oh yeah, Crimson Tide won (go figure) and it was HOT in the stadium but the band was great and it was a lot of fun. I can't wait to go again!
