Your 9.5 mpg is worth bragging about. As to golf cart batteries, I assume they will be replacements for the 2 8d and not in addition. I would not mix. If the 8d are starter batteries, the golf cart deep cycle batteries should perform much better. I have added a watering system that fills them all at time, and I am very pleased with my installation.

Thanks Chester, I was looking at the golf cart batteries at costco. 110 amp hrs each. If i put 4 to replace the 2 8d would my 2 90 watt panels be enough? How often would I have to add water?

I also purchased my 12 Interstate batteries at Costco. Since I fill all 12 batteries at the same time, I doubt that I used two quarts all of last year. I cannot judge the coverage, but my 12 deep cycle batteries out perform the 6 8d starter batteries that they replaced.

Keith, were you pulling anything?
What is the weight of your coach?
My gvw is 30k, but I haven't been across a scale yet, I'm guessing it will be around 25-28k unless we really load it up with stuff.
I got about 8.5 mph on our trip, steady 70 mph at just under 2200 rpm, cruise on, pulling a Ford Escape.
Much better than the 903.

The Interstate store around here have what they call the economy series battery.  It is a new battery that has sat on the shelf for 6 months, brought back to the store, tested and sold with a 90 day warranty.
The U220's are $50 each, standard group 27's are $30.
I've had good luck with them, getting at least 3-4 years in the boat and previous camper.
We'll see how long these last.

I put 4:33 gears in mine last fall, 70 mph is 1800rpm. It doesn't shift into 6th till 65mph.
I scaled in at 27000lbs. Not pulling anything.
Ill check into those batteries, i know a wind and solar guy here whi is really up on this stuff, ill check him out and see what he says. He might know where to get those around here. The Costco ones are 134.00 each
