Today i have purchased coach number 435. Im now a proud Newell owner. This coach has been located in Anchorage Alaska since 2014. I saw this sscreaming deal on FBMarketplace and had to pull the trigger. That said, this coach was broken into about 5 years ago and the inverter was stolen and wires were cut undeneath. I have already sourced and ordered the new inverter and its on the way. I might need som assistance in figuring out the rest of the inverter wires that were cut.

Welcome aboard Carl.

Tell us a little about yourself, especially your mechanical and electrical background. It will help your fellow owners tailor their answers to match your skill sets.

I have been a commercial driver transporting autos for the last 15 years. Before that I was in the Army for 12. I'm very mechanically inclined and usually maintain my work truck. Brakes and tire changes are simple about an hour per corner. Electric isn't a problem. I've got the tools and supplies just need a schematic or picture to reference and I can get it put back together. I've already been in touch with Newell and have a new inverter and control board on the way. From what I understand all those wires are part of the inverter/charging system for the coach batteries and not part of the starting system. The big Detroit 60 and Allison combo is the same as what the Army has in their Frieghtliner trucks really easy to work on. I'm very much looking forward to this project. Hope this helps.

Hope this is allowed here. While doing research this morning on the inverter wiring I looked on YouTube and found this video of the coach I just bought. https://youtu.be/TxXdr7sAy-s?si=ZBuRHSt6cX_KSP6f
This is the Motorhomes of Texas video advertising that was done before the person I bought it from. It currently needs a bath and wax but it's in just as good condition minus the inverter wiring.

I missed seeing this thread but there are many inverters that will work in your case wiring them up is pretty straight forward. Keep us posted on your choice of inverter and progress.

I went to my local solar store with part numbers from Newell and bought the one step up from what they sold. Only difference was saving money on shipping costs. Its a Magnum Energy MS2812 Pure Sine Wave with A/C passthrough wiring it in shouldn't be hard.
I've got a line toner so i can identify all of the cut wires and label them. Good thing my neighbor is a retired electrical lineman, he's got the larger crimpers. Ill probably get started on it this afternoon since its pouring down rain currently.

That's a good one Carl, everybody that has old inverters upgrades to those.

For right now the only electrical systems operational are run of the start batteries. I'm going to put a charger on the house batteries and see if i can shock them into taking up new life. If not just to save some money i might but the Interstate battery brand 8D 190AH batteries since they cost about half as much.
Right now I've got the inverter and remote panel sitting in my garage while i read through the manual, trying to figure out how I'm supposed to pass the shore plug and the generator through it but I'm close to figuring it out
