I’m on the hunt for a good quality LED light bar to install in the space in the door to the generator compartment which is 36” wide on my coach. This is a perfect place for a single row LED light bar about 30” wide. I want it to have great light output but not blind others coming towards me. I know there are lights with diffusers built in that help in this matter. I have seen others using 2 separate LED lights for this but I would like a single bar rather than 2 lights. I would like the light color to be adustable or at least change from white to amber. Combination of spot and flood beam…
Any suggestions would be great!
Night time campground navigation or driving at night?
I am asking because the light is not DOT approved and would result in a tremendous amount of glare to oncoming drivers. Admittedly, this is a pet peeve of mine.
I agree with Richard. Light bars are a red flag as none that I have seen are DOT approved. This is why I went with two smaller units and pointed them downward. In fact, very few if any LED lights are considered road legal. How you install and aim will determine what attention you get.
I think I am going to find some good, bright LED 6” pods in both white and amber and just line them up under the genset. Then I can use whichever I like or all of them if not on road. That way I could aim them correctly. I am going to work at rewiring the lights as per your guide Richard but still would like some aux lights and side marker lights for curbs and hard turns would be nice when the blinkers come on… I have them but they don’t work and could use a change to LED.
