Valid Levelling 6 Pack Valve Maintenance Coach 1482 -
hypoxia - 11-22-2022
Valid sells a valve replacement part 6X1053 for the 6 pack levelling valve. I looked for a different solution to the valves leaking internally. What I discovered is another part that has the part needed which can be removed and used to replace the valve nipple. The old nipples are less pliable, brittle and susceptible to internal leakage. I use a punch to remove the old part but the new ones are easily removed with your fingernails. I replaced all 12 valve nipples today in both 6 packs. The part number I ordered was KIP SKPA38.
Valve Nipple Part . There may be a better solution, please post it. The "O" ring is size 019. These valves are normally closed, I used the original springs. The solenoid coil is HydraForce 4301512 Series 08 DR Coil.

Jim,
Thanks again for contributing info on the newer technology Newell stuff.
If you will take a chamfer tool, and lightly twirl by hand on the metal seat, you can clean up the rough edges on that seat to improve the seal. Lightly, and by hand.

Great write up ! Some additional information on the parts please. Did you replace the whole valve plunger and seal or just the seal? The part number
KIP SKPA38 shows a assembly unit for $8 each but it looks like you could replace just the seal. I went to the Valid site and searched for SKPA38 which returned nothing and the same results with Kleen-rite. I would like to order the seals to keep on hand in case of future leakage.

The SKPA38 spring and plunger are discarded once the red seal is removed. The only useable part is the red seal. I had no luck in finding the red seal by itself.

Richard,
Reading your comment, I looked again at those valves with the silicone seals and where they actually seat; I've attaced a photo marked up of where I believe that seat/seal is...way down in the cavity against that small 1/16" port.
If you're saying to smooth the chamfer on that seat, sure looks to be small and must need a very small chamfer tool. Can you verify my arrow is what you're referring to?
Thanks

Yes that is correct. You really want a sharp and even edge there to achieve the best seal possible. If the edge is pristine, then leave it alone. But if its chewed up, use the chamfer tool lightly to clean it up. You will be cutting on the ID of the hole.

i would not play with that orfice unless it is chewed up and that is not going to be the case for almost everyone. in the case of the valid six packs with the orfice on the six pack itself, if you goof it up, you will need to replace the entire block.

Between the Monaco Signature and Newell, I have taken 5 Valid valve assemblies apart, 4 six packs and 1 four pack. I have seen zero corrosion/damage to the surfaces inside the blocks and on the valves. I have found trace amounts of dirt/debris in a few of the individual valves. Other than cleaning them and replacing the parts I have discussed previously, I wouldn't do anything else when it is mounted on the coach.

I updated post #1 of this thread to include a document showing parts and part numbers for the Valid 4 and 6 packs
