Cummins governor -
Gregory - 11-05-2018
A couple of months ago I had my coach (#1630) at the factory for a few items to work on. While there I asked my service advisor (and another customer) about getting the speed governor changed slightly. It is set for 75 MPH and I understand why. My problem is when overtaking a semi, other bus, or just slower traffic sometimes while going up a slight incline, I start losing speed and can't complete the pass. I would like to get the governor changed slightly so I can get a little more out of it when performing tasks such as this.
Does anyone know of a Cummins service center near Houston, TX that can perform this task?
Thanks for any help!
Gregory

Gregory,
Contact ECU King in Santa Fe, TX. They can do what you need to set the speed in the engine computer.
They are on Hwy 6 south of Alvin, southeast of down town Houston.

You might want to consider buying the Cummins Inline Data Link Adapter. You can get Chinese knock-offs for under $200. It will allow you to adjust all the ECM parameters. There is an excellent website for information -
http://rawze.com/forums/index.php Go to the 'ISX Related Help' page. There are also some great documents at

That sounds like a good approach. I will look that stuff up and see what I can learn, maybe doing it myself is possible.
Thanks,
