I would rather perform maintenance in my driveway than on the road during a vacation. So, i replaced all of the air bags & ride height valves as they all looked original.
I also added the necessary mounts for a quad shock setup on the steer axle.
After replacing all the shocks on my '87. The old shocks had almost no dampening compared to the new KONI 1868s.
I thought it drove OK before. . . . .
The response & positive road feel is so much better now.
It feels like I am a participant now, compared to before when it felt like I was mostly a spectator . . . . .
I had to buy some big wrenches to deal with the air lines going to the air bags. I hope I never need them again!

Great job. Shocks do wear out and they will make a tremendous difference in the ride, handling and comfort.
