Microphor. It’s a pvc piece that broke. I am trying to figure out how to glue it back together.. does not carry water or have pressure

Can you take a picture? I am very familiar with the innards of the microphor, and I cannot picture what you are describing. Sorry for my denseness.
The reason I am asking is that it is very important to know which piece you are talkiing about, and what the plastic is.
If it is truly PVC, then PVC cement available at Lowes will work fine. BUT the parts inside my microphor were not PVC. I don't know what they were but no glue I had, including Plastaid, would adhere well enough to make a suitable repair.
