Any Gurus in Eastern Iowa? - Rjbjfire - 08-08-2015

Greetings From Iowa,

My wife, 4 of our girls and I are going on a short trip August 13 to 16.  Looking to see if anyone is camping along the Mississippi River in Eastern Iowa?  We're going to spend the 13th and 14 at the Fossil & Prairie Center outside Rockford, Iowa.  Then we're going over to Effigy Mounds Park the 15th and 16th.  

Just looking to meet a couple more Gurus and looking for any recommendations on county, state and federal parks in NE Iowa.

hi roy,

wow, that brings back memories. i grew up in mason city and have been to rockford many times. i can remember going there as a kid to watch fireworks. effigy mounds is really cool. but....i live in arizona now.

i am not sure there are any gurus around there, but there are so many of us who knows?

We've seen a couple Newell's but they are always on the road moving through. I'm not as quick as some to have my wife snap a photo. There are a few in Iowa, I just need to find them.

when i was first looking there was an early 90's newell for sale in mason city. a farmer had it in his barn.

If you call the factory they will sign you up as an owner and send you a book each year with all of the registered owners. It's nicely laid out alphabetically and by state.
