Well starter just went out. Called Newell.. 20 mins later had sum1 here. Doing a replace job.. Motor spinning it just won't engage the engine.. Do I keep the old starter?

If you can keep it you have it rebuilt and carry as a spare to insure it will never happen again. Good luck! Great to hear about Newell's service again.

It may just need a new solenoid if the starter motor is not wore out.

RE: Starter - Yachts - 03-22-2014

Roadside service and new starter 500$.. They kept old starter.. I was actually happy. Total time from calling Newell till complete. 94 minutes!!

RE: Starter - Chester Stone - 03-22-2014

Marc, not too bad of a deal, but I wonder why the starter on a 2007 would go out so soon.

RE: Starter - qcj - 03-22-2014

It's a 2004 Chester. It has been started a lot of times, are maybe had a weak part from the beginning.

Well like anything mechanical, they break or wear out.. If not we would never have anything to fix and richard would be bored..lol.... I have had cars that starters have gone out before 10 years .. Just one of those things..
