That definitely rules out for a visit.

I think I've got it just about figured out. Inverter is going together now. Need a relay and a thermal breaker to get the DC systems back online. Batteries have been on a pulse repair charger all day and seem to be taking it. Managed to source all parts locally. So that was nice.

As with almost all projects.  Things turn out like and 80's infomercial... But wait... there's more!!
These cables were cut as well! Guess it's back to the wire store tomorrow

Carl do you have any history of what was going on there? Theft of copper? Thats 4-0 copper and its not going to be a happy day when you have to pull new cables. Doesn't look like enough room to use wire lugs.

RE: Proud new owner - cwl1979 - 09-14-2024

It was parked in a storage lot outside about 6 years ago and homeless folks attempted to gain entry. They broke out the window in the 1/2 bath and got inside but couldn't get anything to work. A few of the power bay locks don't work and they got the inverter and all the cables they could. Tried to get the aqua hot running but caused a small electrical fire on its fuse panel when they cut all the power cables. At least they were smart enough to grab the fire extinguisher and get it out before they burned up much. They tried to hotwire it as well. Managed to only take out the High beam switch but never got it running. After that it was moved into a shop where it sat till I bought it. For the price I got it for I knew I'd need about 10-15K to fix it. Even then it's still a deal.  I've restored cars and done complete wire harnesses before. I knew it could be done so I took the gamble. The coach only has 118k on it.
I've already run the new 4/0 cables for the inverter. Found where the " new cut lines" went. If I pull them into the next bay forward I can get the spliced with about 4 feet  of wire. Then heat shrink them. Should be OK. It was just to late in the day when I discovered it.
Wait till you see the Aqua-hot!!
I'll have to build a new harness for that and grab some thermostats but shouldn't be to bad. At least I can see what and where it all goes.

Depending on what you have to repair on the AH, this thread may be helpful.

Thanks. I'll take a look.

RE: Proud new owner - Richard - 09-14-2024

Carl, when you are rewiring the AH be aware of a quirk in the wiring.

AH uses ground to make the relay circuits. But the Tstats send a positive signal. The way to convert is using a relay. Tstat activates relay, but relay contacts make to ground.

RE: Proud new owner - cwl1979 - 09-14-2024

that would explain the 2 relays on the outside. thanks for that
