Strange sound and a couple leaks - 360 - 09-30-2024

So I drop by storage unit to pick up a few things and before leaving I hear the most strange sound coming from the bay in between my engine and the house batteries on the curb side.  I believe this houses the air system for rear slides?  It's a repetitive sound over and over again and if you expel air from the top desiccant it will stop for a second and then keep right on making the same repetitive sound.  I think the link posted will take you to YouTube where I uploaded it.

I got out my bubble and my Amprobe and the Amprobe per the attached pick gets a 99 on that black knob, but I have zero air leaking there.  Assuming that means the sound is resonating from that knob?  Where I was able to see signifiant leak is in the seam on the little metal rectangular piece at the bottom.  I've circled that in red where it's leaking and also one with bubbles as it's leaking quite a bit.  Not sure if that needs to be replaced or if it can be taken apart and have some type of seal replaced.  Not exactly sure how it even comes off the wall?

Hopefully this is not clear as mud.  I guess the good news is that I found a pretty good sized leak along with one push fitting that needs changed to compression, but otherwise I'm at a loss as to what this sound is and how to fix that box from leaking.

The top thing with a black knob is the pressure regulator for one of the rear slide seals. Be careful messing with that. If you set it wrong, it can blow up the seal. (Ask me how I know this). It is a readily available part.

The bottom box thing is an air filter if I remember correctly. If you unscrew the top, a little filter comes out. I am not sure if these are easy to find.

I suspect there is a gasket around the top that may be leaking.

The way that Newell works on these, is that they disconnect the air lines and take the entire baseplate off the wall.

Look at both of the water separators and see if they are making the noise. See if they are trying to automatically dump water.

No noise or leaks coming from separators.  I figured out how to upload a link for the video.  It's an annoying sound for sure.

I had another thought. Maybe a check valve. I will see if I can identify in pics.

Your noise is electronic, Its from where the bubbly part is a suction filter and its leaking so it cant finish its vacuum but keeps trying. id recommend buying a new one instead/ before opening that one

Thanks a ton Carl!

A suction filter is new to me, need to have a touch see someday.

The suction filter has a replaceable gasket.  See page 3 of the attached document.

Thanks for that Jim.  Looks like I could have just replaced the gasket and filter, but I had already ordered the entire manifold.  Thankfully it was only 30 bucks or so.  Always fun to learn something new.

grab a gasket and filter and then you'll have a spare should you need one
